I asked a girl to dinner!

A few months ago I ran across this really nice girl. Very friendly and I immediately took to her personality. I did some support work w/ her over the phone and it turns out she has this SUPER great personality, very sweet nice and everything.

I'm one of those guys (and some of the people on here) well know, don't go and ask people on dates.

My sister says I'm totally blind to girls (and I might be to most of them!) but some people do catch my attention.

(if my sister reads this she will know, on both accounts)

Soo... A week (or two) ago something came up again and we ended up talking about this and that
for a while. I liked talking to her because... well I don't know, I just did.

(guess what she likes video games! ps2 is her favorite w/ the current game shes playing
Magna Carta), a RPG like Final Fantasy. And she was the one who brought that up! (not me).

Anyway, out of the blue this girl (who WILL remain nameless... as only one person knows who this
girl is, is Erica and lets keep it that way) sends me some pictures of her. Anyway I forwarded
the pictures to Erica and here is Erica's comment:

OHHH!!! she is cute!!!! I like her and her personality via photos!
The one with short black hair right.. xxxx? Neat spelling too!!

Yep that's right not only is she extremely nice, really nice personality, and she has this amazingly cute voice, and funny, she ends up being stunningly beautiful.

Now I was already thinking about if I could see her because I felt I'd have a good time w/ her because she seemed like a really fun neat person.

But now what; At this point if I asked her to see her in person she might think it was because now that I realize she's this very attractive girl (and I'm sure she knows too) that I'd ask to see her just because she is very pretty (which is NOT true!). I REALLY try hard not to judge people based on their outward appearance, but she really doesn't know that.

Well... I mulled it over and mulled it over, I also dropped the fact that I was going to be in (that was earlier) anchorage, but no response.

some of the items here MAY be wrong timewise but...

Well I did it, I was going to call her, but I decided to chicken out and I sent her an email instead on sunday notifying her that I was going to call her that I was going to be in anchorage monday - thursday. The big problem was I had a very tight schedule when I was in anchorage and not a lot of time,
and I didn't know my schedule.

And I did call her, but I got rejected (but nicely!!). I tried several times (I guess I'm persistent too) she said her Mom was in town and she had my email and would get back to me.

Never heard from her again.

Anyway I was hurt, I realize I shouldn't have been, but I did have some hopes and they were crushed completely! :P.

I completely misread her, she is just a really nice girl.

But on a lighter note; I had the GUTS to ask a girl on a date (although I didn't want to say it was one, and at the time I probably would be iffy about calling it that), but I did it! Although she will never know that she is now in one of the girls (which number less than the fingers on my hand) that I've ever asked to do anything with like that.

Evidently everything was completely in my mind but... hey!!! At least I have one! :P

Hip Hip Hooray for Myron!!!

And I had a GREAT time in anchorage, I ate out constantly some REALLY good food. (I think I like Anchorage better than Juneau btw!!!)

And how is THAT for a scattered blog?!!?!!!

Sorry to hear things didn't work out with that girl, seems like she'd have been fun to hang out with. I'm kind of in the same boat as you in regards to being blind to girls -- way back when I was in college there was this girl who liked me but I was totally oblivious to it, in part because I didn't feel the same way (personality-wise she was great, but she had something of a weight issue). Looking back on it though, I feel like an idiot for not picking up on it a lot sooner than I did. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Glad to hear you had a good time in Anchorage. I was just there last weekend for a Microsoft cert exam (which I just barely passed, but passed all the same), and I'll probably be going back again the end of September to take the last one. It's also good to know I'm not the only one who vastly prefers Anchorage to Juneau. ;-)
