Getting married? according to the Juneau Empire I guess so!

I guess I am, at least according to Juneau Empire last friday! Thanks for the congratulations of everyone who noticed!
That was pretty wierd to see my name listed, as my name is fairly unique! It is amazing how many people here (and not on myspace) read juneau empire and noticed my name.. WOW!
I am a very different individual but I doubt even I could skip the whole "let date first and be girlfriend-boyfriend" and just jump right to the marriage part! But congratulations to the OTHER Myron Davis in Juneau!!!

So what happened to me this last week, but big thing is I went to Leighanne and Dustin's marriage ceremony in Reno. I haven't been to Reno in such a very very long time and it was very good to see a lot of my friends.

So here is the rundown of the wedding:

My blue shirt was a bit damaged, so I ended up borrowing kyles, so I wore my blue cashmere sport coat, w/ my blue tie, and the blue shirt, black pants and black wool coat. Also I got my hair done at infiniti salon's. It now again feels light and fluffy!
Kyle drove me down to the Reno automobile museum where I sat and looked at all of these people who I had NO idea who they were. There was two buses to go up to the Saint Mary's in the Mountains Catholic Church.

I waited for a while as the bus filled up, hoping to see someone I would know.

Nobody :(.

Eventually I took a deep breath and walked over to the bus the was closest hoping it was going to the same destination I had in mind.
It appeared that the two buses naturally split into a "younger" bus and a "older" bus.

I got on the "older" bus. However there was a few young people, but they left to go to the younger bus... and I was alone. Everyone seemed to know other people but me. While I knew Leighanne very well I didn't know any of the family and only a few of her friends.

So I looked out the windows as we drove up the Sierra Mountains.

We arrived; I looked out of the window anxiously looking for maybe; just maybe someone who I knew. I recognized Dustan (the groom), but he appeared to know all kinds of these people so I kept to myself and eventually entered the church.

I found a seat by myself on a row, and saw and waited. 10 minutes after I sat down, a girl sat down behind me alone. I took a chance after it appeared that no one seemed to know her and I introduced myself. It turns out just like me she knew no one at all and was here alone. Then some other people wanted to sit next to me, and I quickly thought on my feet and said hold on and I moved to the row behind me next to her. I think she was relieved that she wasn't alone. I had a conversation with her and found out her name was Katie. She worked with Leighanne at the Disney store with her a couple of years back and didn't know any one else in her family, but was good friends with Leighanne.

The wedding was very formal and very nice. I have never been to a Catholic wedding before and it was a good experience. After the wedding and talking with Katie, she asked if I wanted to get a ride from her down to the reception which is jumped on. I so did NOT want to ride back alone on the bus. (I am a bit shy at meeting new people as people here know!).

On the ride back we sang kareoke in the car on the way back, found out that Katie's boyfriend was supposed to make it but he had stuff come up. We got back to the reno automobile museum and I was assigned Table 13, which no one was at, but Katie asked if I wanted to sit over at her table so I did for a while until...

Kevin came!

Yep, I was glad to see him, and I moved back to there.

>>> Fastforward >>>

I had some really good conversations, and because of the way the tables managed to be in Katie was sitting right behind me as well and seemed to be doing pretty well, but she was constantly looking at the entrance hoping her boyfriend was going to make it (I know because I was right between her and the door). There was soo many people and I was a little uncomfortable in such a little crowd but it was okay because I was with friends. Then Kevin and his wife went to dance for just a little bit. Which was fine because I just moved over sat in the spot I was invited to sit earlier, I was mulling in my mind... would it be proper for me to ask a girl who had a boyfriend to dance as she was talking and mentioning that she did like to dance?

I wasn't sure if it was proper for me to do that. So I was just about to open my mouth, then this other guy comes and asks her to dance (he was her friends husband) and she says yes. Now I'm alone at the table, and suddenly I feel like a third wheel and I realize why I don't like places like this. But no worries Myron is cool and strong but I am not going to be sitting there bymyself alone looking like a deer in headlights. So I call kyle and asked him for an emergency pickup. The whole dancing thing brought back bad memories of the only other time I went to a dance when I was a Junior in High School. I had some good times but the night was over for Myron.

So that was my wedding experience.

(Leighanne however was very glad to see me, as I expected; and the trip was worth it for her, as she really wanted me to come!).

On Sunday went to Church and saw my relatives (not blood relatives but through marriage), Saw Stephanie, Amanda, Gary and Kim and lunch with them. Wow the kids sure have grown up!

I didn't get to see everybody but I had a good time seeing all kinds of people but I was so busy with stuff I just didn't have time to do everything. I wanted to see Jon while I was there but it just didn't work out.

On the way back on the plane it was fogged in, so I ended up travelling from 6:00am (alaska time) when my plane left till 7:00pm when I arrived in Juneau. What a flight, didn't eat anything all day! (except airplane snacks).

I sat in the seat so long that my leg is really killing me now.

List of some of the people I saw:
Renee
Kyle
Jennifer
Marcos
Dave
friends at church
relatives
Tennyson
Tennyson's new girl friend Caitlin (sp?)
Kevin
Britney (kevin's wife I've never met)

however the entire last few days is pretty much ONE BIG BLUR!!!!!

But I am glad for every single person I saw, and don't feel bad if I didn't write about you, or didn't see you as I know I wanted to do; except I only had so much time! And I'm getting tired of typing adding all of my experiences which were so many!

Amanda

Sounds like you had fun even if there were a lot of strangers!

I wouldn't know the rule on asking a girl with a boyfriend to dance either. . . but, you could've asked and if it was inappropriate then she would have said "no"! :)

Wow... A Catholic wedding in the Biggest Little City, mountains, awkward moments, emergency pickups... That's quite the trip, Myron!

Sounds like you had fun though, eh? Even if it was a little weird at times?
