Writing club story #2
This is Marie and Ron. Write about an unlikely friendship.
Ron had everything. Ron owned 41 leer jets, 9 tropical islands, 14 skyscrapers in New York City, and essentially several small countries and had a monopoly in making lipstick, phones, and red and blue carpet.
Ron was 24 years old. Ron had won the Boston Marathon, and went to space; was unbelievably popular.
Ron had his pick of anyone in the world.
Ron was unhappy.
Marie had nothing. Marie was hugely in debt, she was active a little geeky sometimes but she was happy.
Until one day she stepped out onto 84th avenue in New York City without looking and Ron's extended luxury humvee plowed into her shattering her body.
The only reason why she survived was because Ron had a side project running for transferring his brain into a super advanced computer system.
As Marie sat their dying on the cold pavement of New York City Ron plugged in his brain transfer unit to her brain and as she gave up her last breath he converted her brain into electrical energy and dumped her into his super advanced nano-computer.
Marie opened her eyes and she couldn't breath... but she found she didn't have the desire to breath... or need.
Then she looked out the hyper advanced cameras which plugged into her new replacement body and she saw him.
It was Ron.
Ron from when she was a child and they played in the park for 2 minutes when she was 7.
Ron knew that she was Marie, his best friend for 2 minutes from when he was 9 years old. Back in his life again, finally.
They were together at last... everything was going to be okay.
From then on, they went everywhere together. They had nothing in common... and yet... Ron knew he could count on Marie forever because she would always be there (unless he dropped her on the ground and left her). And she could never go that far from a wall outlet.
Marie knew Ron would be with her because if he didn't she would be alone on the floor or too far away from a wall outlet and die.
(authors comment: I felt that this whole scenario is pretty unlikely... and they wanted something unlikely so there it is!)
